Syl Liebl Sr.

Sylvester (Syl) E. Liebl Sr. (1917-2003) of Barre Mills, Wisconsin was born in Willow Lake Township near Wanda, Minnesota. He never read a note of music but performed nationally with his band the Jolly Swiss Boys polka band. They played for 55 years playing in all major ballrooms in the tri-state area.

Syl had four weekly radio shows on WKTY for 22 years and appeared on television in La Crosse and Rochester, Minnesota. He composed numerous songs and had 33 copyrights. Syl was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 1993.
