Ron Lech
Hall of Fame – 1998
Ron Lech of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin is a dedicated concertina musician and teacher. He exemplifies the true meaning of a professional concertina musician. He continuously promoted the concertina for over 40 years through his playing and teaching.
Ron led his band the Polka Jesters and backed up polka acts like Li’l Wally, the Bohemian American Club of Chicago, and Jim Herda’s Concertina Club. He honed his talents in the bars, nightclubs, and lounges of Chicago. He was always ready to drive any distance to participate in the next jam just so he could be part of it. Ron always looked forward to seeing who he calls “the nicest people in the world”, the whole group of concertina players.
