Harold (Happy Harry) J. Dolato (1898-1996) of West Allis, Wisconsin, at the age of 86 was featured in the Milwaukee Sentinel Newspaper displaying a photo of Happy Harry Dolato playing his concertina. His family was quoted in the writing, “If it’s a picture of Harry, it’s also a picture of a concertina.” In the Dolato family, you don’t have one without the other. Every day he “wears” his concertina.
Happy Harry served the public with his music and antics. He played the concertina for the elderly weekly for over 10 years and often joined other musicians at Karpek’s Music Store in Milwaukee as they gathered once a week to express their concertina music.
