George Pauers

George Pauers (1924-2020) of Franksville, Wisconsin got his first concertina at the age of 13 and taught himself using the Silberhorn Instruction Book. He started performing at the age of 15 and formed his first band at 18 years old. George’s bands were popular in the Racine and Milwaukee region.

As a member of the Metropolitan Musicians Club, he transposed music so three concertinas could play in three different keys at the same time. In 1995, George became president of the Old Timers Concertina Club. George played the concertina for many years and always enjoyed watching people sing along, dance, and have a good time.
