Frank Stirrett

Franklin Rhodes (Frank) Stirrett (1920-2005) of Petrolia, Ontario, Canada played professionally for 40 years. Frank was the bandleader of the Old Tyme Jamboree Band. He played the Anglo concertina, and performed in Great Britain, Germany and Holland.

Frank sold concertinas and operated the Historical Concertina Galleries at the Shakespearian Festival in Stafford, Ontario, Canada. He negotiated a deal with the new owner of his shoe store to allow him to use the room upstairs as a concertina museum. He called it “The Old Tyme Music Hall” and he had concertinas on display. Every Saturday, a group of concertina musicians joined in to jam.
