Ed Teikowski

Ed “Tyki” Teikowski (1910-1975) from Milwaukee, Wisconsin was an inventor, concertina player, teacher and dealer. In 1944, Ed had two patents; the first was the accordion with a floating microphone pickup inside and the second; a vibrato loud speaker which featured rotating speakers.

Ed and his wife Violet were the owners of the Polonia Music House in Milwaukee for 28 years, teaching hundreds of musicians.

Adding his floating microphones to the concertina brought the concertina into the modern age.
