Art Altenburg

Arthur (Art) L. Altenburg of Milwaukee, Wisconsin owned the famous Art’s Concertina Bar at 1920 South 37th Street in Milwaukee from 1982 to 2007. Art registered his tavern with the U.S. Patent Office and during its time, it was the only bar in Milwaukee with live polka music playing three nights a week.
Art hosted a concertina jam every Thursday night in his tavern. His own band, the Jolly Jacks, played for 52 years.
