Andy Justmann

Andrae (Andy) Justmann (1931-2017) of Waupaca, Wisconsin played the concertina for over 50 years. He performed in eight states and four countries at numerous music festivals. At the age of 16, he started a three-piece polka band called Andy’s Polka Boys. This soon evolved into a 7-piece band and later into an 8-piece band. Andy’s band performed for 51 years, being featured on radio and TV, and recording seven albums and three 45s.

Andy was a self-taught musician who played seven instruments and wrote the arrangements for his 8-piece band. He was a member of the Wisconsin Orchestra Leaders Association and was honored as their Orchestra Leader of the Year in 1978. After moving to the Waupaca area, he also played clarinet, saxophone, and concertina with the Bloomfield Concert Band.
