Adam Wanta of Hatley, Wisconsin has been involved with promoting, teaching, writing and playing the concertina for over 40 years. He taught many students whose parents couldn’t afford to pay for lessons. He taught for 20 years and had about 20 students.

Adam recorded several 45 RPM records, arranged many tunes, and wrote five compositions for the concertina. He was an officer in the Good Timers Concertina Association and supported many concertina jam sessions each year. He also helped to run the WCC concertina festivals in Wausau, Wisconsin for many years.

Adam arranged over 400 tunes for the concertina that included many of Li’l Wally’s popular songs, and he was one of the very first to arrange songs and hymns for the Catholic Church Polka Mass. He played many masses and church festivals with his wife Violet.
