Tony Stimac

Anthony J. (Tony the Tiger) Stimac (1914-2002) of Mosinee, Wisconsin started playing the concertina at the age of 14. He was self-taught and learned from his love of music and the concertina.

Tony traveled to Europe twice on music tours with the Roman Possedi Orchestra. He liked to “clown around” and was famous for his large sombrero, rubber chicken, fake nose and glasses. During his clowning performances, he would stretch the concertina out as far as possible.

Next to playing music, Tony loved to dance. Tony loved being around people and had many friends, he always said, “You’re a rich man if you have friends” and Tony was very rich in that way.
