Ed Suterko

Ed Suterko (1932-2016) of Reno, Nevada was a concertina musician and promoter. He formed the Reno Concertina Club. His love for the concertina took him on long drives from Reno to concertina gatherings in Gibbon, Minnesota and Allenton and Wausau, Wisconsin.

Ed often told the story of him meeting Dolly Parton at a club in Reno. After talking to her, he went out to his car and brought in his concertina, and played “Pretty Girls in Chicago.” It was the first time that Dolly had heard a chemnitzer concertina.

Ed bought, sold, traded, and repaired concertinas, accordions, and button boxes. Ed also provided concertina lessons.
