After being nominated to the World Concertina Congress Hall of Fame in 2008, Gaylen wanted to do something special and “Outside the Box.” He wanted to say thank you to all of those individuals that have mentored and motivated him through 25 years of playing the concertina, and to create a unique recording that would demonstrate the many different styles of music that can be played on this versatile instrument.
