CONCERTINA INSTRUCTION BOOKS

Concertina Music is delighted to share a collection of vintage self-teaching books created to help beginners learn proper Chemnitzer concertina techniques and to support newer players as they continue to grow their skills. These classic instructional books—now in the public domain or without identifiable copyright holders—are made available under a Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Deed.

We invite visitors to download high-quality PDF versions of these timeless resources. While the materials are freely offered to the concertina community in support of the USCA vision, free-will donations are kindly appreciated. Your contributions help maintain this website and support valuable projects such as the publication of our free sheet music library.

NATIONAL SELF TEACHER

National Self TeacherThe National Self Teacher was published by the Chart Music Publishing House in 1919. The book consists of 18 pages of introduction to music, basic concertina instruction, musical scale exercises, and easy songs for beginners. Based on the age of this document, its instructions are limited to 76 and 102-key instruments. However, the book still provides a great primer to the chemnitzer concertina.
